Caroline Colomei

Co-Artistic Director

Butterfly Theatre

Caroline has worked with Butterfly since it’s formation in 2011. She has worked on many projects over the years as an actor, director and writer, before taking on the role as Co-Artistic Director of the Theatre strand of Butterfly. Over lockdown and the advent of the shutdown of all theatre and film, Butterfly decided to take matters into their own hands, resulting in Caroline co-directing two social-distanced shows: one a mini tour of A Midsummer Night’s Dream around London farms and a co-written panto of Jack and the Beanstalk at Puzzlewood. Butterfly also decided to enter the virtual world and perform online shows during covid, where Caroline co-created A Christmas Carol and co-wrote our Valentines Show To Date Or Not To Date.

Previously, Caroline's roles with Butterfly have included performing at the beautiful Tiefburg castle in Heidelberg, Germany in Macbeth, Hamlet and Romeo & Juliet. In the UK, Diane Barrie and Hannah Warren in California Suite at The Other Palace Studio. Caroline has also directed Butterfly shows Office Xmas Party and An Ideal Husband at The Other Palace Studio, plus a UK tour of Romeo & Juliet.

Acting wise, pre-covid, Caroline appeared in Hartshorn-Hook’s immersive experience The Wolf of Wall Street in the heart of London. More recently, Caroline performed at Allington Castle, with McLeod What on Earth Productions Ltd, in the premier of Absolutely Everything, an immersive show based on the fabulous children's book. She has also toured internationally with TNT/ADG Europe in several productions, including paying Portia in The Merchant of Venice, the Ghosts in A Christmas Carol, Lily in Half Broke Horses and Young Larry in Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter.

Caroline finished filming several short films, including and If Apps Existed 500 Years Ago with Yellow Stockings and When the Screaming Starts and Forever Eddie with Palikuku films.
